Commander Fair

Norman E. Fair, born March 14, 1943 long time resident of North Palm Beach, passed away at home July 29, 2019. Norman served as Commander in the Coast Guard, was awarded the Purple Heart for shrapnel wounds sustained during the Vietnam War and discharged as a highly decorated veteran. Norman continued to help his fellow man serving as a medic in Boston, Massachusetts after returning from service. As a civilian, Norm continued to live his passion for the sea aboard his beloved sailboat throughout the Bahamas before settling in Palm Beach County for the remainder of his life. Commander Fair’s patriotism and respect for his fellow veterans remained prominent as he proudly displayed his flags outside his home. Norm’s colorful character and his brilliant entrepreneurial drive endeared him to all who were warmly welcomed into his life. His ashes will be returned to the ocean he cherished.
