Kenneth Freeman Snyder


June 27, 1947 ~ July 18, 2016

Kenneth Freeman Snyder age 69 passed away on July 18, 2016 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Kenn was born June 27, 1947 to William and Nancy Snyder. He was the oldest of three children. He grew up in San Diego, California. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Army. He served the majority of his time in Germany. Upon discharge from the Army he returned to San Diego where he met his love Sharon. They were married in San Diego but later moved to Morgan, Utah. Morgan is where they remained and raised their three girls.

Kenn worked for Hill Air Force Base and retired from the Base in 2003. He then took a contractor position with Karta. After ten years of contract work Kenn finally retired and became an avid fisherman. Kenn loved being outdoors, preferably on the water and was usually catching Wipers at Willard, Tiger Muskies at Pineview, Bass fishing at The Gorge or spending time at his coveted place near Lake Powell. He was a member of the Bass Federation and was proud to be part of the 2012 State Team, who happened to take 1st place that year.

Kenn enjoyed spending time with his friends and his family, especially his grandkids who were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children: Vicki Reed (Mike Akers) of West Valley, Heather (John) Hoover of Ogden and Carra (Eric) Brandley of Morgan. He is survived by one brother, Billy Snyder in Hawaii. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Garrett Reed, Tony Evans, Shelby Hoover, Connor and Corbin Brandley.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the South Morgan Cemetery, 335 S. State St. Morgan, Utah.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Bone Marrow Team and ICU Staff at LDS Hospital for the amazing care they gave Kenn. They would also like to thank Dr. Sutherland for the great care he gave Kenn over the years.
