Jared Mackenzie Colon


Jared was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough. He was a student at Hillsborough High School entering his senior year. Jared was an awesome young man who loved fishing, riding his dirt bike and Quad, and loved everything about being outdoors. He owned goats and chickens and knew everything about how to care for them. The "love of his life" was his Jeep Grand Cherokee. Jared was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Faye Werner, and his grandmothers, Faith Hiemier and Rosa Maria Pagan. Surviving are his parents, Beth Minker Colon of Hillsborough, and Hector J. Colon of Hamilton, NJ; two sisters, Melissa Rice and her husband, Tom, of Hillsborough, and Joelle Colon of Hillsborough; aunt, Robin Katchen and her husband, Harold, of Randolph, and their children, Karly and Natalie; uncle, Jose Colon and his wife, Anna, of Hamilton, and their children, Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Charles, and Michael Colon and his wife, Erin, and aunt, April Van Ness of Hamilton. Jared is also survived by his grandparents, Arnold Minker of Bergenfield, N.J., and Marylin Minker of Randolph, N.J.; three nieces, Jordan, Shannon and Lindsay Rice, and one nephew, Tommy Rice.
