James Christian Townsend, 49, died Saturday, September 13, 2014, in Rich County in a hunting accident.
James was the fourth child born to Victor H. and Beatrice Ruth (Spaulding) Townsend on March 23, 1965, in Ogden.
He married Tina Meacham on December 30, 1998, which ended in divorce. On March 1, 2013, James married his childhood sweetheart, Pamela Jean Austin Rice. Besides Pamela, he loved his children, fishing, hunting, crashing radio-controlled airplanes, NASCAR, and Dodge Chargers!
James was employed at Peterson Inc. as a machinist as well as staying actively involved in his family's business, Vic's Quality Keys, as a locksmith.
James was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the California Arcadia mission.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela, two daughters, Kristian and Stephanie Townsend, three stepdaughters, Letitia, Alaina, and Lucille Rice, two stepsons, Patrick Meacham and Jacob Rice, one grandson, Lucian Meacham and many nieces and nephews.
James is also survived by his three sisters, Rebecca (Gerald) Mercier, Jeanette (Lee) Sluder, Regetta Reed and two brothers, Ira (Lorrie) and Robert (LeAnn) Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend, Curtis Thompson.
