Edward Lee Poll, 88, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away and left his earthly home on October 14, 2014 surrounded by his family. Edward was born April 20, 1926 in South Weber, UT to Royden Vine and Chloe Jacques Poll. He lived in South Weber most of his life.
He married his sweetheart JoAn Schoss Poll on April 7, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They cherished 66 years together and were blessed with two daughters and two sons.
Edward was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He served his country honorably in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked at Wheelwright Lumber Co. for many years then retired from Hill AFB in 1974 with 24 years of service.
Edward loved the outdoors, spending much of his time in the Uintaâ€™s at his cabin. He loved Godâ€™s beautiful creation of the mountains where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling with family and friends. Some of his favorite times were talking about the good oleâ€™ days, working on the farm with his dad, hauling peas to the vinery, and sitting around a campfire singing his favorite songs.
He loved all sports, especially the Utah JAZZ, BYU, and the Colorado Rockies, horse races, dancing with his sweetheart, spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching western movies, listening to country music, and enjoying his favorite foods, shrimp and vanilla shakes!
He is survived by his Eternal Companion, JoAn, his daughters, Gail (Dale) Ukena, Gwen Boseman, and son Flint Edward Poll; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother Max Poll, three sisters, Dorothy Markham, Joyce Weaver and JoAnn Stone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kenneth Lee Poll, two brothers Vine and Delbert Poll and one sister Rhea Westbroek.
Edward will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of cherished memories.
