Dane Eldon James

Dane James

Dane Eldon James, 62, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on September 11th, 2021.

Dane was born October 31st, 1958 to Frances and Harold James in Gardena, CA. He played football and baseball in high school and graduated from Irvington High (Fremont, CA) in 1976. Dane entered the construction industry at the age of 18, becoming a very skilled, well known and respected carpenter, as well as a member of the Carpenters Union Local 713 since April 1983.

Dane enjoyed many outdoor activities such as, pheasant hunting, camping, rafting, skiing, skydiving and fishing (he loved sharing memories of going with his daughters and teaching them to fish). Everyone knew they could count on Dane, he was always there to help relatives and friends with various household projects. He was well known for his natural athleticism, giving and caring nature, humorous jokes and his positive encouragements, “You’re doing a fantastic job!”. He was an avid sports lover and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, so much so he became a member of the Browns Backers Worldwide. He was also a loyal fan to local sports teams (BSU Football, Boise Hawks, Idaho Steelheads, Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors) and would go to games any chance he got. He loved going to concerts and rockin’ out to Lynyrd Skynyrd and CCR. He liked watching NASCAR, playing golf and bowling. Dane enjoyed traveling to places like Hawaii, Mexico and taking his daughters to Disneyland and Great America. He was always up for a new adventure!

Dane is survived by his daughters: Rochelle Farlow (Tony Casale) of San Jose, CA; Rosanna (Daniel) Nowland of Seminole, FL and Robi James of Boise, ID. His four grandchildren whom he adored: Dyllanie, Devyn, Makena and Anika. He will be deeply missed by his big sister Jenna James and his father Harold James both of Tracy, CA. Dane was preceded in death by his mother Frances James.

Dane will always be remembered as a loving father, proud “grampa”/“grandpaw”, loyal brother and compassionate son. He would take the time to send those random, “I love you” and “I’m proud of you” messages. There was never any doubt how much he cared for his family and friends. Dane will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

The family of Dane wishes to extend our gratitude to everyone for their sincere condolences and sympathy.

Celebration of life will be on November 22nd, 2021, noon, at the Campos Family Vineyards
